AP Rajya Sabha Seat: YSRC has emerged because the fourth largest get together within the Higher Home by capturing all 11 Rajya Sabha seats from Andhra Pradesh. Three newly elected Rajya Sabha members took oath on Thursday (March 4). That is the primary time in 41 years after coming to energy in 1983, that the Telugu Desam Social gathering (TDP) doesn’t have a single MP within the Rajya Sabha.
Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar administered the oath to YSRC leaders YP Subba Reddy, Gola Babu Rao and Meda Raghunath Reddy. Subba Reddy and Raghunath took oath in English, whereas Babu Rao took oath in Hindi.
YSRC fourth largest get together
With the induction of recent members, the entire variety of YSRC members within the Rajya Sabha has now reached 11, making it the fourth largest get together within the Rajya Sabha. BJP is primary within the Higher Home with most variety of 97 Rajya Sabha MPs. After that there’s Congress with 29 members and Trinamool Congress with 13 members.
Before taking oath, Babu Rao thanked Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for giving alternatives to Dalits in Parliament. He mentioned that his goal is to convey the problems of the poor to the eye of the central authorities. On February 27, the Election Fee had introduced Rajya Sabha elections for 3 seats in Andhra Pradesh.
YSRC did clear sweep in Andhra Pradesh
TDP has 22 MLAs in Andhra Pradesh, they wanted 44 votes to win the Rajya Sabha seat. Due to this, TDP didn’t area its candidate within the Rajya Sabha elections and YSRC (*11*) unopposed. YSRC made a clear sweep of 11 Rajya Sabha seats within the final 5 years. Now there may be not even a single consultant of TDP left in Rajya Sabha.
The tenure of TDP's solely Rajya Sabha member Kanakmedala Ravindra Kumar ended on April 2, 2024. Andhra Pradesh state has 11 Rajya Sabha seats in its quota. Before the 2019 elections, YSRC had two members and TDP had 9 members within the Rajya Sabha.
