Los Angeles, CA – Soor Shakti, a classic Gujarati cultural Garba album released by Rythum Shastri in 2022, is gaining significant attention for its traditional flavor and cultural initiative. The album aims to promote Indian traditional music to the Indian youth residing in the United States. At a time when traditional music is on the verge of extinction in many countries, Rythum Shastri’s effort is helping to preserve and promote this genre both in the United States and internationally.
To further this initiative, Rythum Shastri co-founded an organization in Los Angeles named The Garba Social. The organization is dedicated to promoting traditional music and celebrating Indian festivals. Their inaugural event, held in September 2023, attracted over 1,500 participants from diverse backgrounds who came together to celebrate and enjoy the rich traditions of Indian music and dance.
Rythum Shastri’s performance at this event lasted over three hours, with the audience enthusiastically dancing and performing traditional Garba steps. The event was honored by the presence of several dignitaries, including Congresswoman Michelle Steel and Sharon Quirk-Silva from the California State Assembly, who recognized and felicitated Rythum for his contributions to cultural preservation.

Rythum Shastri’s dedication to spreading awareness about rich cultural values and traditions continues to inspire and engage audiences around the world, ensuring that traditional music remains vibrant and appreciated.
