Indore, Madhya Pradesh, June 21 – The MSME Pharma industry in Indore is rapidly making a mark, and today, Modern Laboratories received prestigious recognition for its outstanding achievements in the pharmaceutical sector. The award ceremony, organized by the MSME Ministry of Madhya Pradesh, was graced by Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan and MSME Minister Shri Omprakash Saklecha. Modern Laboratories was honored with first place and a prize money cheque for implementing best practices in the pharmaceutical industry for the year 2020-21.

The Export Director of Modern Laboratories, Mr. Shivanshu Kharia, accepted the award on behalf of the company. Modern Laboratories has been a trailblazer in the pharmaceutical industry, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, where they became the first Pharma MSME to receive permission to manufacture Amphotericin B, a vital drug for treating Black Fungus infections. This milestone has cemented their leadership in the field of pharmaceutical research.

In addition to their pioneering work with Amphotericin B, Modern Laboratories has expanded its product portfolio to include around 1,400 SKUs and has significantly contributed to both the domestic and international markets. The company supplies pharmaceutical products to government institutions across India and has expanded its exports to 26 countries globally.

The promoters of Modern Laboratories Pvt. Ltd., Shri Arun Kharia and Dr. Anil Kharia, expressed their pride in the company’s achievement. Their words resonated with encouragement, emphasizing their ongoing commitment to advancing pharmaceutical research and supporting the industry.

In another noteworthy achievement, Nandani Medical Labs Pvt. Ltd., also part of the Modern Group of Industries, was recognized with an award for implementing best practices within the pharmaceutical sector. The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh presented the award to Mr. Arun Kharia and Mr. Shantanu Kharia in a ceremony held in Bhopal. This recognition highlights Nandani’s remarkable performance, particularly during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic.
