Pune (Maharashtra) [India], May 16 – Governor Ramesh Bais Presents Suryadatta Stree Shakti National Awards to Empowered Women Across Various Fields
Governor Ramesh Bais recently presented the prestigious Suryadatta Stree Shakti National Awards 2023 at Rajbhavan, Mumbai, honoring exceptional women who have made remarkable contributions in various fields. The event, organized by the Suryadatta Group of Institutes and the Suryadatta Women Empowerment Leadership Academy (SWELA), was graced by notable personalities including Padmashree Parampujya Acharay Shri Chandanaji Maharaj, Sham Jaju, former National Vice President of the Bharatiya Janata Party, and Prof. Dr. Sanjay B. Chordiya, Founder Chairman & President of Suryadatta Group of Institutes, along with Sushma Chordiya and many others.
Governor Ramesh Bais expressed his admiration for the achievements of women, stating, “Women hold an esteemed position in Indian culture. They prove their strength not only by managing their households but also by excelling in multiple roles simultaneously. We must respect and provide opportunities for them.” He highlighted the importance of women’s contributions to society and emphasized the government’s commitment to empowering women socially and economically through various initiatives.
The Suryadatta Stree Shakti National Awards 2023 recognized the achievements of women across different sectors such as spirituality, health, social work, entrepreneurship, arts, education, law, and more. Some of the awardees included:

- Adv. Shweta Kaushik (Law & Justice)
- IPS Vinita Sahu (Administrative Services)
- Soundarya Sharma (Entertainment)
Other notable awardees include Suman Dhamane, Dr. Namita Kohok, Alka Karva, and Purva Kothari, among many others. Each recipient has made significant strides in their respective fields, breaking barriers and setting new standards for others to follow.
In his speech, Acharya Shri Chandanaji Maharaj emphasized the need for social upliftment beyond caste and religion, promoting selfless service, education, and spiritual growth. He stressed the importance of fostering unity and goodwill within society.
Sham Jaju also praised the initiative, stating, “This ceremony highlights that character traits, not gender, determine a person’s excellence. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has introduced several schemes for the dignity and upliftment of women, which are making a difference in society.”
Prof. Dr. Sanjay B. Chordiya shared the significance of the Suryadatta Stree Shakti National Award, which honors women who have created a unique identity through their outstanding contributions. He expressed his pleasure in having the Governor present the awards and emphasized the importance of motivating women to continue their journey toward empowerment.
The ceremony was moderated by Anand Sing, while Mrs. Sushama Chordiya delivered the vote of thanks, concluding the event on a note of gratitude and empowerment.
