The Maharaja asked Zubeida’s mother for the hand of the actress, but after that one day, Maharaja Hanwant Singh himself reached Zubeida’s house and asked his mother for her daughter’s hand. Although the Maharaja’s marriage to a Muslim girl was a big deal and difficult. Not only this, he was married earlier also to a princess Krishna Kumari. Zubaida’s mother did not approve that her daughter would convert to another woman and become a step-in-law.
