India, May 26 – Uttarakhand, known for its spiritual significance, is home to some of India’s most revered destinations, including Badrinath and Kedarnath. However, it also boasts numerous lesser-known sacred sites, each with a rich history and profound spiritual significance dating back centuries.
Offering a deep dive into these hidden spiritual gems is the documentary DIVINE TRAILS: Spiritual Treasures of Uttarakhand. Narrated by renowned Bollywood actor and voiceover artist Dalip Tahil, the documentary takes viewers on a spiritual journey to explore these unique cultural landmarks. The documentary is set to premiere on Discovery SD & HD on 27 May at 7:10 PM and will be available on discovery+ starting 31 May.
The documentary highlights the power and significance of these sacred sites, offering a closer look at the Kunjapuri temple near Rishikesh, where the mountain air resonates with spiritual energy, the sacred haven of Purnagiri, where worldly concerns dissipate, and the Haat Kalika temple, whose divine flames act as a beacon of light leading one towards divinity.
The film further explores the Golu Devta temple in Almora, known for granting blessings and justice to those who seek it, the ethereal beauty of Patal Bhuvaneshwar with its stunning rock formations and glowing subterranean streams, and the serenity of the Kartik Swami temple in Rudraprayag, where sacred chants and cool mountain breezes create an atmosphere of peace.
The documentary also delves into Uttarakhand’s divine locales, including Kanchi Dham, imbued with the presence of Neem Karoli Baba, the timeless Katarmal Temple, and the Jageshwar Dham, where ancient temples nestle among towering Deodar trees, adorned with intricate stone carvings.
In addition, the film takes viewers on a spiritual journey to Adi Kailash and Om Parvat, two divine manifestations that have left many spellbound. The striking similarity of Adi Kailash to the sacred Mount Kailash and the naturally formed Om symbol at Om Parvat create a powerful spiritual magnetism, attracting seekers from around the world.
Speaking about the importance of the documentary, Shri Satpal Maharaj, Minister of PWD, Tourism, Culture, and Irrigation in the Government of Uttarakhand, said, “Promoting spiritual knowledge from India is essential for bringing about a positive change globally. I commend the team for presenting this valuable information in such a visually appealing way.”
Shri Sachin Kurve, IAS, Secretary of Tourism in the Government of Uttarakhand and CEO of the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board, added, “Uttarakhand is rich with divine experiences. It is important to raise awareness about our cultural heritage through visual media so that it reaches every corner of the world.”
Dalip Tahil, reflecting on his involvement with the documentary, shared, “Working on Divine Trails has been a deeply fulfilling experience. I encourage everyone to watch this documentary, which we have crafted with devotion, in the hope that it will guide them on their own spiritual journeys.”
