FLO Ahmedabad Unveils SARV VIKAAS Initiative to Empower Women Entrepreneurs
Ahmedabad, Gujarat (India), June 20: The FICCI Ladies Organisation’s (FLO) Ahmedabad chapter launched SARV VIKAAS, an initiative spearheaded by Chairperson Aditi Parekh to empower and uplift women entrepreneurs, in the presence of Pernia Qureshi, the renowned fashion icon and founder of Pernia’s Pop-Up Shop in India.
SARV VIKAAS, one of the four pillars of FLO Ahmedabad’s SARV vision for 2023-24, focuses on the socio-economic development of women, advocating for legal and policy reforms, uplifting rural communities through grassroots initiatives, and providing vocational and educational training.
The official launch of SARV VIKAAS began with committee members collaborating and networking to promote the cause of women entrepreneurs. The event saw Pernia Qureshi, celebrated for her styling contributions to top publications such as Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, and Conde Nast, styling the committee members in exquisite outfits and jewelry from Fashion Edit India, a luxury e-commerce platform.
The audience was mesmerized by Pernia’s expertise during the styling session. Having made a name for herself by designing costumes for the Bollywood film Aisha, Pernia continues to inspire with her creative flair. Fashion Edit India, a growing e-commerce destination for luxury, features prominent Indian labels, offering accessories and outfits.
The gathering also highlighted the success stories of remarkable women entrepreneurs like Tanvi Godiawala and Purvi Doshi, who have made significant strides in their respective industries. Their stories serve as motivation and inspiration for others in the community, reinforcing the inclusive nature of this initiative.
Aditi Parekh, Chairperson of FLO Ahmedabad, expressed her excitement about the launch: “Today is a milestone for us at FLO Ahmedabad as we unveil SARV VIKAAS, a crucial focus for us this year. We are committed to supporting the growth of women-led startups and businesses, as it is vital for their independence and empowerment. Through SARV VIKAAS, we aim to make a meaningful impact on the lives of as many women as possible.”
During the event, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between FLO Ahmedabad and the Gujarat Government’s Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Commissionerate, in the presence of Shri Sandip Sagale, Industries Commissioner. The MoU paves the way for collaboration on MSME-focused initiatives, utilizing expertise to support women-led businesses in Ahmedabad and across Gujarat.

FLO Ahmedabad provides essential support to women entrepreneurs looking to start their businesses. A dedicated help desk is available to assist and guide these women through their entrepreneurial journeys. Pernia Qureshi emphasized the importance of this initiative, believing that women in India are incredibly intelligent and hardworking, making them ideal candidates to lead businesses.
The other three initiatives under the SARV VISION include SARV ADHIKAARA (dedicated to women’s political and legal rights), SARV SAKSHAM (focused on upskilling women), and SARV SHAKTI (aimed at empowering women in leadership roles). FLO Ahmedabad is determined to revolutionize the entrepreneurial landscape for women through SARV VIKAAS and the broader SARV VISION, creating a more inclusive, empowering, and robust future for women in business.
