Omkar Bhoiwada Project Achieves Milestone with 3,000 Rehab Units Delivered
Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], June 8, 2023 – Omkar Realtors, one of Mumbai’s leading SRA developers, has achieved a significant milestone with the successful delivery of 3,000 rehabilitation units under its Bhoiwada residential project, located in the Parel-Sewri belt. The latest handover of 370 units marks a crucial step in the project’s progression, which is being developed under the state government’s SRA (Slum Rehabilitation Authority) scheme.
The project, a joint venture between Omkar Realtors and L&T Realty, aims to transform one of Mumbai’s most densely populated slum pockets. Over 16,000 slum dwellers currently reside in the Bhoiwada project, with plans to expand to approximately 25,000 residents by the completion of the current phase. The project, spread over 17 acres and including Khaprideo and Marwadi Wadi, has been a key part of Mumbai’s urban development and is now regarded as one of the city’s leading premium residential areas.
As part of the two-phase development plan, Omkar Realtors will be handing over an additional 232 units by mid-June 2023, followed by 1,400 units by 2025. This makes the Bhoiwada project one of the largest slum-to-residential transformations in Mumbai, with a total of 4,600 homes being built in the area. The luxury housing aspect of the project falls under the Crescent Bay brand, known for its high-quality developments.
The Bhoiwada project also benefits the local community with the creation of 25 Balawadis (children’s schools) for residents, as well as the development of six DP roads and one municipal school, further enhancing the quality of life for its inhabitants.
With 15 towers planned for the project, eight of which will be 40-storey buildings, these will be among the tallest SRA towers in Mumbai. The development will feature premium amenities, including branded elevators from Schindler, Somany brand tiles, and construction led by Larsen & Toubro (L&T), a company known for its luxury housing projects.
