Hollywood star Bruce Willis has said that the crew on the set of ‘Die Hard’ (1988) thought he had died after completing a stunt on the very first day of filming. The now 68-year-old actor played police officer John McClane in the popular film and its subsequent sequel, in which the character faced various challenging situations, reports Mirror. He has spoken about the stunts in the film in the past, claiming that he “almost died” during a stunt while working on the first film of the sequel. His experience working on the film is recounted in Nick de Semlin’s recently released book ‘The Last Action Heroes’, which tells the behind-the-scenes story of various actors. In the book, Bruce recounts a stunt that almost went wrong while filming ‘Die Hard’, reports Fox News. It is said that during the stunt, he jumped on an inflatable airbag from the top of a five-story parking garage. According to the Mirror, Bruce, who retired from acting last year due to health issues, is said to have been wearing only black pants and a coating of a gel-like substance, which he was reportedly told He would save them from the fire. The plastic bag of gasoline is said to have exploded after he jumped from the top of the building and landed on the airbag, allegedly causing Bruce to move to the side of the airbag.
