About Amrita Dhaliwal
Amrita Dhaliwal, she/her/hers, is a Punjabi American comic and devising artist primarily based in Los Angeles. Her work explores the core themes of humanity, like loss of life and love, via a lens of the present political local weather. Just a few highlights embrace The Dwelling Room, a comedy about loss of life and grief, Finest Comedy Winner on the 2019 Melbourne Fringe Festival; creator and producer of the hit LA present, Indian Wedding ceremony, featured in LA Weekly as “High 15 Issues to do in LA”, and others. Past the stage, Amrita co-authored and curated an essay sequence for HowlRound about clown and activism with Nathaniel Justiniano of Bare Empire Bouffon Firm.
